The Barossa Maze The Barossa Maze

The Barossa Maze

Ubertas Wines is building the Barossa Maze, a 2,300 sqm play area made entirely of native Australian plants. Kids can spend an hour exploring the Maze while you supervise from the balcony, wine in hand.

The Maze project commenced in early 2020, and will be open to the public in 2024.

In our mission to showcase the best and the unique of Australia, the maze is grown from the native Red Alter plant (Callistemon Viminalis), which in turn attracts our native animals. Keep an eye out for Australian wild ducks during your visit.

Reviews

A must visit cellar door. Kevin is a very welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate host, describing the story of each wine in great detail once he knew we were interested in such detail. A fantastic range of wines. This modern cellar door is light and bright with views to the vineyard, lawns and maze.

Our favourite place on our recent wine tour! Beautiful sitting outside, great maze - although still growing it was challenging! Kevin was the perfect host, so kind, fun and really makes this place what it is! The wines were beautiful as well so we grabbed a few bottles before heading home. Can’t recommend this place enough, thankyou so much Kevin!

Introduction to the Barossa Valley

Nestled in the heart of South Australia, the Barossa Valley stands as one of the world’s most renowned wine regions. With a winemaking history that stretches back to the 1800s, this famous wine region is a haven for wine lovers. The Barossa Valley boasts over 150 wineries, each offering a unique cellar door experience. From intimate, family-run establishments (just like Ubertas) to grand, historic wineries, there’s something for every palate. Visitors can indulge in wine tasting sessions that showcase the region’s iconic Shiraz and Grenache, while also exploring charming towns and picturesque landscapes that tell the story of the Barossa’s rich cultural heritage.

Barossa Valley Wine Styles

The Barossa Valley is celebrated for its robust and full-bodied red wines. However, the region’s winemakers also excel in producing a diverse array of wine styles. Cabernet Sauvignon from the Barossa Valley is known for its depth and complexity, while Riesling and Semillon offer a refreshing contrast with their crisp and vibrant profiles. Wine lovers visiting the Barossa can embark on a journey through the region’s sub-regions, each offering unique terroirs and wine styles that reflect the valley’s rich viticultural heritage. We invite you to see us at Ubertas Cellar Door to taste a modern expression of the Barossa Valley wine region.
